A lightning strike struck Peruvian footballer D3ad during March, causing him to fall and injure five others.

 


A Peruvian footballer was killed and five others injured after being struck by lightning during a match in Huancayo, Chilca district.

he incident occurred during a match between Juventud Bellavista and Familia Chocca. 

A video showed Jose Huga de la Cruz Meza, 39, falling to the ground after being struck by lightning. He was declared dead at the hospital. 

Goalkeeper Juan Chocca Llacta also suffered serious burns. At least eight players were seen falling to the ground shortly after the lightning strike. 

The game was stopped due to heavy thunder sounds near the stadium. 

One report suggests that De La Cruz was wearing a metal bracelet during the match, which may have caused the lightning to strike him.
