Paul Pogba Requests Training Return at Manchester United Amid Doping Ban

Paul Pogba, the French midfielder and former Manchester United star, has expressed interest in returning to his former club’s training facilities after being released by Juventus following a doping controversy. His suspension, initially set at four years, was reduced to 18 months, making him eligible for a return to competitive football by March 2025.

Pogba's desire to train at Manchester United stems from his aim to stay fit and ready during his enforced absence. Reports suggest that Manchester United has not yet made a final decision on whether to accommodate this request. While the move would be purely for training purposes and not linked to any potential playing contract, the club is reportedly considering its position carefully, given Pogba's high-profile departure in 2022 and the nature of his current situation.

This development marks another chapter in Pogba's tumultuous career, as he navigates the challenges of returning to professional football while managing the fallout from recent controversies.

Paul Pogba is currently serving an 18-month suspension from football due to a doping violation. This penalty, reduced from an initial four years by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), is set to end in March 2025. Pogba tested positive for a banned substance, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), in 2023 while playing for Juventus. Following the doping charges, he and Juventus mutually agreed to terminate his contract, leaving him a free agent as of November 30, 2024.

Despite his suspension, Pogba has expressed a desire to stay fit and has reportedly approached Manchester United about using their facilities for training. Manchester United has not yet confirmed if they will grant this request.
